Miglio 5792 Alibaba Review
If you are sourcing a furniture manufacturer like I was in recent months, then this is probably how you stumbled here to this article. I am sharing my experience so I can save others some pain.
I found Miglio on Alibaba and made contact there. A lady named Sharon was my contact. She quickly name dropped several North American brand names and claimed they manufacture for them (this I learned to be a complete lie as I fact checked with others later on).
Their designs were obvious copy cats of many Italian brand names - having sourced from China previously this is nothing new to me. In fact the designs got my attention in the first place.
I place a test order eventually of one 40' with 30% deposit term and a 45 day production turn around time. First quality control check they failed, many simple avoidable glaring mistakes common to producers that are just getting started. I have seen my share of these, so I would know. This delayed things by about four weeks as they had to rework the order. The second time I send quality control, they failed again, an improvement from the first time but far from the quality they claimed they were capable of, and at the price being quoted. This is when things started going side ways, I stopped hearing from them and no way to get my deposit back. I later hear from my other local agents there is a container a factory is dumping for cheap, and long story short it turns out to be my original order still poorly finished of course. I guess they just gave up on my order because they found it too costly to produce it to my standards (which were very reasonable standards for their price point).
On my next sourcing trip, I made it out to their address in Heshan (this should have been the first warning sign, most reputable producers are in Foshan, Guondong). Their address takes you to a sketchy residential area in the middle of nowhere. I made an appointment in under a different alias to not give away why I am there. Their website claims they can produce 400 containers per month, yet they had trouble finishing my one container. Upon seeing their factory in person, I can also confirm this is a complete lie it is small, sad and dirty and had little activity. Just about every claim they made, turned out to be false under any scrutiny. Workers there tell my agents they only started a few years ago, not 2008 as they claimed. They only serve 2-3 containers per month in volume not 400.
I hope my points are useful. If you are in conversation with them and that is why you are reading this article, take your money and run the other way to a reputation producer.
